Gregory G. Powell is a native of Berea and a graduate of Berea Community High School, Eastern Kentucky University and the Mid-America College of Funeral Service. Greg is active in the Berea community by serving on the Board of Directors of The Berea Chamber of Commerce, a past President of the Berea Kiwanis Club (2004/2005), Member of Berea Lodge #617 F. & A.M.
Greg married Gayle J. Theodore in 1986 and they have 2 children, Sadie Ann and Garrett Samuel Theodore-Powell. Greg and his family are members of the First Baptist Church in Richmond, KY. He has been on the Deacon Board and worked with the youth ministry there, while Gayle teaches in the pre-school department.
John S. Walker, Jr., son of the late Sherman and Sally Martin Walker, is a Berea native. A graduate of Berea High School, he attended Eastern Kentucky University. He is also a graduate of Mid-America College of Funeral Service with a license in both funeral directing and embalming. John has been a member of the funeral home staff for more than a decade and is a member of Farristown Baptist Church where he serves as church treasurer and trustee. John is married to Jacqueline White Walker and they have a daughter, Shannon.
Funeral Director Tod Jennings has returned to his hometown after spending more than five years working in McKee Kentucky. Tod is the son of Homer and Valette Jennings, a graduate of Berea Community High School and attended Kentucky Junior College of Business in Lexington. He was licensed as Funeral Director in 2004. Tod has been a member of the Berea Rotary Club, was active for many years on the Berea Youth League Board of Directors. He is a member of Berea Baptist Church where he has served as Deacon. Tod is married to the former Samantha Baker. They are the parents (step-parents) to four children Jordan, Colby, Katelyn, and Kasey. Also grandparents (step-grandparents) to Jacob and Carson. Tod feels very blessed to be back home serving families in their time of need.
Leonard Bratcher is the son of the late Arnold and Edna Mae Bratcher of Berea. He and his wife, the former Kathy Elliott of Calloway, Ky. live in the Gabbard Town area of Berea. Leonard is a member and deacon at the Silver Creek Baptist Church. He enjoys singing in church services and for nursing home services. He has worked with Harold D. Johnson Cattle Co. of Berea for 40 years and is also a 31 year employee of Blue Grass Stockyards in Lexington. Leonard is the brother of Carolyn (Granville) Isaacs and Kenny (Vonda) Bratcher of Berea.
Marian Abbott has been in the funeral business for 50 years, serving in many capacities. She is married to Kenneth Abbott and they live in Berea. Marian serves as AfterCare Coordinator for Davis & Powell, a position she held for over 20 years in VA. She has provided followup support through individual contacts and support groups. She is a certified bereavement facilitator and has several bereavement certificates in different fields including preterm and infant loss. Marian is also an accomplished musician and serves as staff musician (piano/organ) for Davis & Powell. She is an active member of West Side Baptist Church, Berea.
